Tags and Presentation
Overview
This project will include entries, as indicated, in all of the themes as well as at least one major article in each theme and be presented in a magazine style - that is to say with a table of contents, specific sections, a combination of text and photographic elements with a logical progression through, one page after the other. Of course, it's the web, so we'll be able to hop around from place to place - but the general layout will be zine style.
Following are guidelines and information about the presentation and format of entries in each of the themes. Please read them carefully so you will be able to correctly set up your entry.
- nine photos in total, all tagged utata:project=upstock
- presented in flickr's "small" size, which is 240 pixels (max) across the longest side
- original photos should all be the same size and orientation and of the same theme/subject
- presented in contact sheet format against a black background
- you do not need to upload these photos in any particular original size as we are using a standard flickr resize
- see layout example
Tags
- tag nine (9) photo with the tag utata:project=upstock
Formatting/content tags:
- No formatting tags are used in this theme
- six photos in total, all tagged utata:project=upportrait
- presented in a maximum width of 1024 pixels wide which is flickr's "large" size.
- each of the six photos will be presented as a single entry and all of the photographer's other entries in the theme will be presented on the same page in thumbnail size
- see layout example
Item Tags
- tag up to six (6) photo with the tag utata:project=upportrait
Formatting/content tags:
- utata:color=black
Optionally, folks can choose to display their photos against a black background Each photo you want displayed on black should be tagged appropriately.
- utata:displaysize=medium
If you have an image in this category which you feel should not be displayed at the large size (it's very tall and everyone will have to scroll to see it, or you prefer the look of the medium size) simply use this tag and the project will display it at the flickr medium size.
- six photos in total, all tagged utata:project=uplandscape
- presented in a maximum width of 1024 pixels wide which is flickr's "large" size.
- each of the six photos will be presented as a single entry and all of the photographer's other entries in the theme will be presented on the same page in thumbnail size
- viewers will have the option to view landscape photos on a map, so geo-tagging your entries would be a bonus
- see layout example

- six photos in total
- the first photo, to be tagged utata:project=uppj, will be the lead or feature photo and will appear "above the fold" - or at the top of the article.
- each of the subsequent illustrative photos should be tagged utata:project=uppj2 through utata:project=uppj6.
- each photo will be displayed in the flickr "medium" size which is 500 pixels on the longest side
- there will be an entry submission page on utata.org where you can enter your text - you will be instructed at that time how to insert the illustrative photos into the text so they appear where you want them. (Don't worry, you will be able to preview and edit your page).
- see layout example
Item Tags
- tag one(1) photo with the tag utata:project=uppj
- tag up to five others with the tags utata:project=uppj2 through utata:project=uppj6
Formatting/content tags:
- utata:title="Title Goes Here"
This tag needs only to be placed on the first item (the one with the tag utata:project=uppj) If you do not use a title tag your article will not contain a title.
- utata:articledisplaysize=small
If you want to display all of your illustrative images in the small size, rather than the medium size, simply tag the first image (the one tagged with "utata:project=uppj") with the above tag and all of your secondary images will be shown in the small size. The first image will always be shown in the medium size, no matter what tags it contains. The layout example contains images in the default medium size.

- six photos in total
- each photo will be displayed in the flickr "medium" size which is 500 pixels on the longest side
- the first photo, to be tagged utata:project=uppp, will be the lead or feature photo and will appear on the first page.
- each of the subsequent photos should be tagged utata:project=uppp2 through utata:project=uppp6
- whatever text you enter in the description area of the photo on flickr will appear as text to the right of the photo - complete with any paragraph breaks or simple html styling you have in place
- photos will be presented in their proper numeric order
- see layout example
Item Tags
- tag one(1) photo with the tag utata:project=uppp
- tag up to five others with the tags utata:project=uppp2 through utata:project=uppp6
Formatting/content tags:
- utata:title="Title Goes Here"
For this theme, this tag should be placed on each of the project items. It will appear on the top as a header on the first page and on the side under the caption on each subsequent page. It is for the title of the project - not the title of the image. So, all six items should contain the same title tag. If no tag is present, a title is simply not displayed under the caption or as a header.
- utata:caption="Caption Goes Here"
Optionally, folks can put caption text on each image in their project. This allows people to keep their original photo title on flickr and still provide a meaningful caption for the photo to describe it aside from anything said in the text-proper. The caption appears in small text under the image.
- utata:subtitle="Subtitle Goes Here"
Optionally, folks can supply a subtitle for each page/photo in their project. The subtitle will appear in header text over the top of the description.(see project layout example)
