Text By Greg Fallis

When these bricks were newly laid, when the arch of that doorway was framed and the door set on its hinges, when this building was completed the owner must have looked on it with pride. Brick is strong, brick is solid, brick endures. Brick is tough.

But ivy is tougher. Ivy has no respect for brick; it grows where it will. It will seek any flaw in the brick, any weakness in the mortar, and insinuate its tendrils. Slowly, quietly, inevitably it begins to tear away at the brick. Ivy is patient. It never gives up.
