Text By Greg Fallis

There are moments when the the borders between abstract imagery and the concrete world disappear. Take a poster advertising a cheezy vampire movie, place it behind the plexiglass side of a bus stop, wait for the pallid half-light of the city at night, then add the influence of foul weather. None of those elements alone are likely to astonish the eye. Combined, they transport us out of the comfort of the material realm and exile us in a darkly lovely, non-representational world.

In the end, we must admit we don't need to understand what we're seeing to recognize its fierce beauty.
