There's a lot to learn from feet. In fact, the term pedagogy ... the discipline of teaching ... comes from the same Latin root as pedant, who in the old days was a teacher who stood on his feet in front of the class. Pedagogy, by the way, should not be confused with pedology, which is the study of the soil underfoot.

I don't mean to peddle this photograph (did you know a peddler was originally an itinerant trader who traveled on foot...avoiding impediments that might cause one to stumble). Nor do I intend to put the photographer on a pedestal. I'm no pediseque (a follower ... on foot, of course). It's just that looking at this photo makes me want to spring and leap about at random. In other words, it makes me pedetic.
