The photographer wrote "As so often in this world, this wan't the picture I went to get at all. I have no idea who this small boy is, but his transparent delight in my "prop" made for my favourite shot of the day."

Now and again you come across a photograph which contains the whole of 'every really important thing' and you remember why it's important to carry your camera around, to be prepared and to not be tied to your own original ideas. The best laid plans of mice and men, the wonder of a child, curiosity, compromise, open-mindedness, the power of simplicity, the notion of discovery and delight. Yes, every important thing.
