This is what he has: a job he doesn't like, a pint down the pub with his mates, take-out curry, an action-adventure movie on DVD, a partly-furnished apartment, parents who worry, an ex-girlfriend who gave up on him, hopes.
This is what he hopes for: a solid job with a pension, a pint down the pub with his mates, another chance with his ex-girlfriend, a house in a decent neighborhood, a better life than his da', a little comfort at the end of his days, an end to his fears.
This is what he fears: what he has now is all he'll ever have.
