Morning at the lake

An autumnal dank seeps inside your coat collar and cuffs as you step out of your car and head for the lake.

There is no single soul around, there is only you to witness this change of season spectacular.

You see the vapour surfing over treetops, waves of fog rolling towards you.

You see an angry tide but all you can hear is the plaintive call of a wading bird, muffled in the mist.

You are by a silent lake but your eyes tell you that you’re at a screaming ocean.
