Yoga On Ice

She said, “I’m putting the yoga on ice.”

I thought of all those extra hours – all the extra things we’d be doing now the yoga was on ice. Time she used to spend in asanas we’d share strolling through the park. Instead of salutations to the sun, we’d stay in bed and watch the winter light turn into a dawn glow.

Where there once was meditation, we’d take action.

We went for a drive to a frozen waterfall. She said, “This is where I’m putting the Yoga On Ice.” She looked so cute and pretty in her boots and gloves as she flipped her feet up into a headstand. I took out my camera and waved goodbye to the strolls and the dawn glows and the action, knowing that this wasn’t an ending but a new beginning.
