Look, maybe you don’t believe in the idea of a “soul mate.” Maybe you prefer “kindred spirit,” something a little more reserved. But I hope you find one anyway. Or better yet, I hope one finds you, right when you least expect it. I hope you have the sense to look them in the eye, even if it makes you scream a little bit.

You might never have this chance again: think about that. Do you really want them to go on without knowing that they’ve woken some part of you up?

Maybe you’ll part ways and you’ll never tell anyone else, but for crying out loud, you get to decide what sort of secret it becomes: a bright one that shines when you pull it out of your pocket, or one that’s grubby with regret.
