In the night, a cow

Today we greet you with a story, told in a single frame.

Some of the finest tales ever told are among the shortest. This one is brief indeed, written in a language of shadow, silhouette, and negative space.

We don’t always seek them out, either. Sometimes they come to us, peacefully, like a cow in the night. All we have to do — as this photographer did — is raise the camera, compose the shot, and breathe. The shadows do the rest.
