Any afternoon in Rome is fine
Just an ordinary afternoon. Old fellow sitting contentedly outside a trattoria, drinking coffee, his three complacent dogs keeping him company. A pair of polizia a cavallo pass leisurely by, not so much keeping the peace as quietly enjoying it. The sun is out, but it would be impertinent to shine very brightly.
An ordinary afternoon in Rome. Un normale pomeriggio. But completely seductive to this particular old fellow on this particular cloudy, Midwestern Monday, sitting dogless in a coffee shop as my cup of coffee gradually gets cold.
