Kids....

It's a mystery, how the personality develops. We're born as undifferentiated beings, devoid of any grounded or consistent patterns of thought, emotion or behavior. But somehow, through interaction with other beings and the world around us, we generate an idiosyncratic conglomeration of traits and interests and modes of expression that become us. By the time we reach this boy's age our pesonality is entirely organic. We don't think; we act.

We lose that as we get older. We begin to consider how best to behave. By the time we've become adults, we may still want to pull a face when somebody takes our photograph...but we think about it first. It's still there, of course, still there, that part of us that yearns to act without thinking. That part of us that remains our purest selves. That part of us that remains...

...kids.
