The Daily Ink is the voice of Utata. Yes, your voice, our voices ... all the voices. We'd be tickled pink if our members helped us define that voice. And this, Utatans, would be your chance to do that.

For more information on Fair UseAre you waiting for Clint Eastwood to crack his whip and someone to sing Raaaaaaaaawhiiiiiiide? Or perhaps I attended too many Canadian weddings in my younger years. Now that I think about it, it strikes me that a large bunch of you won't get the Rawhide reference. Moving along ...
We have a few cool announcements that we've already made on the forum but ... you know, that forum runs as fast as a mountain stream in spring.
Cat's out of the bag with her first post yesterday but Brittney Bush (squishyface to some of you, apparently) has become the Utata War Correspondent. Okay, okay - actually she's Chief Discussions Correspondent ... but have you seen that place some days? She might need danger pay! We welcome her and, frankly, can't wait to see what she comes up with. You can read about it on the forum by going here.
And speaking of witty, clever, fun people ... we have a cool surprise to tuck in here. You remember how we talked a while ago on the group about a regular "Agency" project? Well Joe Cattoni (regularjoe) has agreed to join the monkeys in the staff lounge as the Agency Project Manager. In Joe's words ... "Really, we're going to take this seriously and give people a feel for what it is like to "create to order". There will be restrictions, but lots of freedom too. We got some ideas already, and like most decent ideas, it will hopefully evolve." So, stay tuned for some very cool stuff coming up on a Wednesday near you.
And last - but certainly not least - we have the new Editor of TECHtata - our fledgling technical or "how to" column on the art and science of photography. Yes, indeed, we're pleased and proud to announce that Ryan Brenizer (carpe icthus) has joined the Utata staff. We're deep in thoughtful discussion (and cake eating, naturally) on how to make TECHtata the best it can be, so look for a flurry of activity in that area soon. You can read a little more about it on the forum.
