The Daily Ink is the voice of Utata. Yes, your voice, our voices ... all the voices. We'd be tickled pink if our members helped us define that voice. And this, Utatans, would be your chance to do that.

Modern Mechanix is a blog that republishes articles pulled from old issues of Popular Science and other technology magazines.
It is a great site for exploring the state of the art from the earlier half of the 20th century, alongside some odd contraptions that just never really took off.
There's also a remarkable photography section, with all kinds of crazy gadgets and techniques relating to the "photographic arts".
There are delightfully whimsical technique tips, like hiding a camera in a 'Punch and Judy' to get big smiles while photographing children and using a plastic sheet for low-tech facial morphing.
You'll also find hilariously useless inventions, like Camera Nearly Large as Man and Film Star's Photos Printed on Pillows.
It's not all jokes and tricks, however. There are some serious articles like the one on Kite Photography and one called "Twilight City", about how film and photographic paper were produced in 1932. It also details great technical achievements, like the release of the first Polaroid Land Camera.
Personally, my favourite is the walking stick that converts into a camera tripod .. which exudes a sense of class that, say, a flashbulb atop one's head does not.
