Such sage advice from this 1951 issue of Popular Science.
Make silly noises to get Tabby’s attention: miaowing, barking, hissing, squeaking, crumpling paper, or whatever you think might work. If the cat is uncooperative, a morsel of shrimp, liver, catnip, ground beef or sardines will bring him around. Shoot while he is looking for more.
Ah yes, the importance of silly noises when photographing little kittens. Oft neglected, that technique.
Still, they managed to forget to remind readers to sloppily photoshop grammatically incorrect witticisms on to the photos before uploading them to the internet.

It was an age of false decorum. Thank god we've left that behind.

I have five b&w wonderful cats, most of them seem to like to pose! I was amazed how they were looking in my eyes as if asking me about their pose. But, years ago, I have learned to communicate with animals because I am an animal lover. Still now animals cannot speak, however we can communicate with them because they too want to comunicate with us if they feel safe and loved! People ask me how I can capture them, but for me this is a great pleasure and cooperation!Cats are clever animals and love to cooperate if we respect their cuteness.
Otherwise, in Technique:
