Eddy Joaquim goes masterly, straight for the essence. His work is often graphic, usually in-the-moment, mono- or multi-chromatic explosions and sometimes manages to be more than three-dimensional. There is warmth. There is a piquant touch of humour. He embraces his subjects and then births images that delight and enrich - in constantly pushing his own limits, which seems to be a favourite pastime, he also expands his viewers' perception of the world around them.
