I graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota with a BA in Fine Art. I've spent my life making images. I've been employed as an assistant animator (in-betweener), a graphic designer and an illustrator as well as a teacher of art. I worked as an independent designer and illustrator for 10 years. I don't think we're supposed to use the word "freelancer" anymore. In 1992 I opted for the security of a corporate job and became a designer of yellow page ads. Eventually the Peter Principle was invoked and I became a manager of the art department.
I try to keep the creative fire's burning with a little freelance work and a lot of personal "just for fun" work. I love the fact that Flickr and Utata provide venues for my work to be seen.
I currently live in the New Hope, Minnesota, on the edge of a cemetery, half of which is not developed so it's like tall grass prairie in the middle of the metro area. Many of my nature shots are taken back there.I am married and have two daughters, both of which seem to have inherited the creative bug from their parents. My wife works in "big time" advertising. We have a black cat named Ollie.
Who knows where I got the user name, Magnus Eisengrim?
