Evebones’ photos float playfully on the boundary between poetic subjectivity and objective documentary. Her spaces are complexly layered and the subjects, often reflections, silhouettes, shadows and people trapped behind/in front of glass belong to some ‘elsewhere’ space that her images only hint at but never fully disclose.
The photo that first caught my attention is titled 6. At first glance minimal street photography but then you ask yourself what that chair is doing in the middle of the road… These small twists can be found throughout her work and I highly recommend taking the time to explore them.
