Bio

Of all the hobbies, interests and skills I've gathered (and dropped) over the years, photography has been a constant companion. In my adolescent years, my camera helped me understand the world around me; I took my beloved Kodak 110 instamatic everywhere, filling albums with blurred photos of the family cat, friends and family, and camping trips to P.E.I. After university, I went back to school and studied journalism, renewing my love of photography with an appreciation of black-and-white composition and darkroom skills. With my recent switch to digital, my world has opened up again; instead of only taking photos on vacation and when ever I "go somewhere", I've started taking photos everywhere. And I'm beginning to ask questions and pay attention to how I see the world, why a particular image appeals to me, and what feeling I'm trying to convey. I'm drawn to expansive views and visionary perspectives, and delight in the unexpected gifts of life that are only present when my eyes are fully open!
