I have been a photographer for as long as I can remember although I did not become serious until I was about 18. A Cartier-Bresson quote speaks to how I feel about photography:
"Twenty-five years have passed since I started to look through my view-finder. I regard myself still as an amateur, though I am no longer a dilettante.
Chance, luck, patience. Every now and then when lines converge and the light is just so, I am reminded why I photograph.
It is rare that I use any camera other than a small 35mm rangefinder and one 50mm lens. I usually rely on one camera, one lens and one type of film because there is something liberating in the escape from the "tyranny of things".
I carry a camera everyday and look for beauty in the ordinary.
