I thought midlife crises were a TV show cliche until recently - now I'm learning to live my own life drawing on years working as a nurse, teacher, writer, researcher and scholar. I'm a freelance jack of all trades - working nursing shifts to get by, getting consultancy work when I can and building a photography business (postcards, prints, scanning & touching up).
I live in a village on the shore of Strangford Lough in County Down, Northern Ireland, although my roots are in Wales and England. Two cats choose to live with me, more would be welcome.
Rob's photos of decay are literally diamonds in the rough. He approaches the mundane details of peeling paint, rusted out metal, and broken latches with a loving eye, and the results are colorful and tactile and always leave me wondering why in the world I just don't see the details the way he does. Wonderful work, a fabulous flickr friend, and someone whose style always inspires me to take a closer look at my world.
