You know all those, "daring young men in their flying machines"? Malachi is their virtual godfather. Malachi is an engineer at heart and thus arranges elements in photographs like I used to watch my grandfather build ships in bottles: with meticulous care, with great concern for what came before, what will come after. He experiments and measures and steps back and squints and experiments some more. What happens, after he applies all of his measurements and perceptions is always artful, always provocative and always, always worth at least one look. Two is better.
