Bio

I'm a brand new Flickr and photography addict/novice (June 2007). Have spent most of my life as a writer (and now run a school of creative writing in San Francisco) but always, in the back of my mind, hankered to try photography.

So at the age of 54, upon the suggestion of a friend, I checked out Flickr, which inspired me to pull out my dusty digital camera and begin learning how to use it. Of course, although it's only four or five years old, the camera is already outdated (only takes a 128 meg memory card!), but at least it has gotten me experimenting and playing. I lean toward doing abstracts, but that could certainly change as I continue to explore and learn. I LOVE going out of my usual verbal realm, into the visual.

Walking the dog is so much more fun when you take your camera along! For that matter, just walking around the house or into the back yard is more fun. I see potential pictures everywhere now.
