Shash has been introduced to photography by his father, who was seriously into black and white amateur photography. Shash learnt photography on his own, using a 35mm camera with guidance from his father, and reading and seeing a lot. After high-school, Shash lost touch with photography for a variety of reasons, and only did some family photography every once in a while. Recently introduced to Flickr, and seeing the enormous pool of talent all around, Shash's passion for photography has been rekindled (maybe reignited is a better word).
What strikes me most about shashchatter's pictures is his bold use of colour and perspective; at times they have an almost 3-D effect. He crops well and brings his subject to me, the viewer, grabbing all my attention and drawing me into that particular moment in time. Vivid and alive, they assault the senses in a joyous and affirmative way.
