As a southern Cali resident who's just begun to take a real interest in photography, I'm finding that I tend towards taking more graphic images...that is when I'm not photographing my lovely lab mix, Emmett.

She takes the everday and makes it otherworldly, from black and white images of an abandoned airstream trailer and clovers, to a snail working its way across the pavement to a fabulously textured knob pulling something halfway open.
The angle is different, but not self-consciously different. Colors pop. Shadows and texture invite. And her dog has enormous paws.
