Sol Lang

Bio

A graphic designer and photographer, Sol Lang is co-founder (with wife, artist and graphic designer, Mary Bogdan) of Crayon Design & Communication, a design firm in Montreal established in 1980. Sol Lang has won numerous national and international awards and was on the board of directors of the Société des Graphistes du Québec. He has been actively producing photographic art and has participated in numerous solo as well as group exhibitions. His works are in public and private collections.

"I have been inspired of late by man's conflict between his self distructive mode of existance and his need for self preservation. A subject that is of utmost importance to me and others on a global scale.

I become very inspired to record photographically as well as cinematographically, scenes that show evidence of man's abuse of nature and how we, humans fit into the workings of our planet's ecology."

Sol Lang has graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University in Montreal in 1976. More recently he has participated in the Advanced Photography Seminar at the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts and is now a member of the "8 Versions" photo group, which holds exhibits and meets regularly.

Testimonial

SOL LANG is A R T.

Everthing he puts his hand, eye and mind to becomes art. He tells us about himself through his photography, and in doing so, he talks to all of us in a very personal way, revealing something very deep about the human condition. Self portraits and portraits of mankind.

To experience his art is to expand the mind and the soul.
