Flickr has reminded me of the importance of photography. My contacts post jawdroppers daily. Daily. Utata is my favorite place to hang out (and contribute) on Flickr.
My gear for now:
Canon Digital Rebel XT
Opteka battery grip
18-55mm 3.5-5.6 (kit)
28-135mm 3.5-5.6 IS USM
50mm 1.4
Photoshop CS2 + Actions that save me the trouble
I like to see original takes on just about everything, but I suppose my favorite subjects would have to be candid portraits, food & drink, concert photography, wilderness photography, and night photography.
I also appreciate a good story whenever there's one to be told. And Utata Thursday walks.
I'm not sure how I first found Doublecappuccino's photos, or how he found mine, but I'm very glad I did. His photography is eye-catching, engaging, and full-to-burst with a genuine sense of joy. The latter is very important, because it is often hard to find that kind of warmth on Flickr. I get the feeling that that warmth (for both the subject matter and the process of capturing it) comes from the man himself. Take a look at one of his many wonderful portraits, or at one of his numerous fascinating nature studies, and judge for yourself. I will certainly be following his work for some time to come.
