I've been taking photographs for 40 years but I have yet to develop a real style of my own. My plan is to use Utata and Flickr to help me find out what sort of photographer I want to be.
Of course my photography will and already does reflect my other interests. Wildlife, nature and the outdoors are very high up on my interest scale. Bird watching in particular. It's another obsession which goes back 40 years.
I'm not keen on still life and can't be bothered to faff around with lights or flash. I haven't done much in the way of portrait photography and don't consider myelf to be any good at it. Yet, a very good portrait shot can move me more than just about anything else. Why the paradox? I'm not sure. I think I'm more inclined to street and candid stuff than to formal portraiture. I don't think I will ever make it as a studio photographer.
I love it when I see a photograph that stops me in my tracks and makes me go 'Wow!'. I want my photographs to do that to you.
