Irina is a software developer with a big passion for photography. She held her first camera when she was 13 and had the chance to get her hands wet in a darkroom, experience that led her to working in a semi-professional photo lab later in life when the smell of the chemicals brought back memories that could not be ignored. Photography became her most active hobby and she gave herself a goal of taking and publishing photographs everyday on her photoblog Still Memory, secretly hoping to make it as a pro someday.
Irina is also the creator and organizer of the Picture the Cure annual visual arts fundraiser, benefit for the Canadian Cancer Society. You can read more about this initiative at the official website.
Irina is a versatile photographer who captures everyday life in interesting ways, has a fun sense of the absurd, uses gorgeous colours and repetition to great advantage, and opens our eyes to a world of wonder and appreciation. From the magic of childhood, to natural treasures, to architectural beauties, to the essences of people in her portraits, Irini's photographs are a joy to view. Not only a passionate and creative photographer, Irini is also an inspiring and dedicated promoter of Breast Cancer awareness.
