This weekend, our project will be more technique- rather than subject-based. Being a holiday weekend for many people, we've chosen a project that you should be able to do anywhere. :)
Utata Bi-Focal is all about focus. We are looking for photos that have 2 distinct subjects, but where one of the subjects is in focus and the other is not. This isn't simply about having a nice blur in the background or having a narrow depth of field, but about having 2 elements important to the "story" where only one is in focus.
Your 'in focus' subject can either be in front or in back.
As with all weekend projects, the idea here is to go out and make new photos. But, if you find you've got just the perfect one in your archives, you are free to tag that one (or up to 3) as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing your intepretations of Utata Bi-Focal. I imagine we'll have lots of different subject matters which should make this an interesting project to see.
Have fun and stay in focus (halfway anyway). :)
Participating in this Utata project is simple! You need to do/have the following three things and then all you have to do is tag your photos utata:project=bifocal (read about other tagging options) and you're all set! Have fun!
