Ever oooh and ahhh over the way the sun comes in THAT window, or looked at the colored glass above your mantle and thought just how cool and awesome it was when you looked at it from THIS angle? Ever think the window casings in your sunroom are truly beautiful on a sunny morning or the bowl of fruit on the table is pretty much a work of art when the twilight comes?
Let's pretend we're publishing the Utata Interiors Magazine.
Not only do we want really beautiful shots of interiors such as this amazing example by The Ten Cent Designer, but we're also interested in the story inherent in such shots. How do you (or they, if you're not shooting at home) live? What's important to these folks? What sorts of lines do they appreciate, what colors make them happy?
Or, really, just search Lori's stream and you'll find out what we're after :) In fact, she wrote an article for Utata on this subject - so it's a good read to get game-ready, so to speak.
So, start squinting at the couch and move that lamp behind the desk where you always wanted it and brush away those crumbs from the hardwood (or is that just me?) ... arrange the towels in neat French folded piles and dust off those paper mache grapes ... it's time to take some interior shots!
And I believe there is some spot, some arrangement of things and space in *every* environment that is picture worthy.
Just close your eyes, pretend you're shooting for a totally cool interior design magazine and ... go!
Participating in this Utata project is simple! You need to do/have the following three things and then all you have to do is tag your photos utata:project=interior (read about other tagging options) and you're all set! Have fun!
