She couldn't believe she had finally done it. So often the wish had wandered her mind, when she knew he was off with one of those women. She didn't know nor did she care, where he found them or how he met them.
But so often the evidence of his betrayals were just overwhelming, stains of lipstick or a female scent were the usual little signs. Sometimes she came across pieces of lingerie or even bracelets or rings that weren't hers, when she cleared pockets of his suits.
When the Police found her, she was quitely sitting on her bed and willingly admitted to have shot. She hadn't felt this free for a long long time. While she was waiting to get arrested, it was already hard for her to remember, how she could bare this pain over all these years.
His neglect when she had given all she had. Her canine devotion that seemed her only way to respond to the cold and possessive acts that occasionally filled her nights.
With surprise she noted that the police officer, who did the interrogation with her, was the first man in years that she perceived as a human being. But maybe that was due to the alcohol that so pleasantly bemused her mind.
Here are the elements for IP 23:
1 - something liquid
2 - a weapon
3 - shot in a noir style
I think something liquid is pretty self explanatory. We're talking about a fluid state of matter. We don't care what the liquid is...water, whisky, watermelon juice, it's up to you. We don't care if it's in a free state or contained in something so long as we can see that it's liquid.
The second element, a weapon, is a tad trickier. A weapon can be anything that could be used to hurt somebody. A knife, a letter opener, a wrench, a garrote, a small nuclear device. Again, you get to decide.
The final element, that the photograph be shot in a noir style, is purely stylistic. You can find a dandy little wikipedia entry on film noir here. You needn't follow all the classic noir traditions...you don't have to shoot in black and white, you don't have to include a dame in seamed stockings, you don't have to include a shady guy in a big-shouldered trenchcoat, you only need to keep generally to the noir tradition.
