The book is the original, first edition of Stephen King's book The Gunslinger.

It was written and published before the rest of The Dark Tower series's epic story line was envisioned.

Once the other books in the series started to flow out of Stephen King's head and onto paper, he realized he would probably need to do a major rewrite, especially of this book.

So you can absolutely buy a first edition (2003) of The Gunslinger from The Dark Tower series, but it's going to be patently different from the book you see in this photograph:

It also costs more than my iPhone.

I guess 1982 counts as "old," as does my father's wedding ring, which is older than I am.

Hopefully the beautiful key-shaped keychain works as a key. It does for me, and I guess that's all that matters.
