I spent Canada Day in the Mother Land. Or is it Father Land? According to the national anthem it's out "Home and Native Land," so I guess I"ll go with that.
Technically, though, my Motherland is the US, since that's where my mom was born and my Fatherland is the UK since that's where my dad was born. Guess that just makes me mixed up.
At any rate, I'm back in Canada for my first Canada Day since 1998. Or maybe 1997. I can't remember which. Due to lack of planning we missed the Oakville fireworks last night, caught the tail end of Canada's entry in the Symphony of Fire, and most of Hamilton's Canada Day fireworks extravanganza. And then the moon came up. Big and orange and really, really fast.
And there was me without my freaking tripod. So I lay down on the ground and used rocks to hold me and my camera somewhat steady. Sorta.
A totally cool way to end a totally cool day.
Happy 140th Birthday, Canada!
