Beauty above, work below. Water gets captured, channeled, heated, compressed, then released. It cleans stuff, carries away waste, and drives things round and round. It stinks when filled with bacteria. It wanders here and there, constrained by ditches, flumes, dikes, tubes large and small, tubes plastic and steel, tubes hot and cold, and, most of all, the whims of man.
But in the sky it is free, and therein is one place its beauty still lies.<<<
