The Blackstone Theatre, Marshall & Fox, 1910
For Techtata'01: The theatre name sits on top of a neat upper horizontal third; a set of decorative window-tops follows a more subtle lower horizontal third; and the sets of columns centre on neat vertical right-hand and left-hand thirds, intersecting the upper horizontal third in their capitals -- all quite appropriate, I think, to the neo-classicism of the architecture.

For Techtata'01: The edge of the sign bisects the frame vertically, disrupting what might otherwise have been a more classic composition in thirds (the horizon line is on a lower horizontal third, the entrance to the building on an intersection of thirds); this disruption marks the disruption of place.
