Note the expression on the woman's face. This is no doubt the WORST way to get into a canoe. Canoes are very unstable if you are standing in them, they are also extremely unstable if you have the bow/stern up on the shore because it creates a vertext for it to rock like crazy.
But it does make for good comedy if you feel like coming down to the shore to watch on a busy weekend.
The best approach is to put it all the way in the water, stand in the shallows, and step in keeping your body centered and low. If you have to stand always stand on the center line of the hull.
