Yesterday's Utata Thursday Walk (in honor of the second anniversary of that great invention) started in Valley Forge Historical Park before detouring (about 25 miles) to Longwood Gardens.
My dad had recently told me that when he was a little boy, his father always took his mother to see the dogwoods at Valley Forge in spring. Our conversation ended with Dad telling me: "Be sure you see the dogwoods this year."
Well, Dad, I tried. But I was too early. Next to nothing was blooming. But I was smitten with the shadows on the wall of this old school house.
