Waterfall Under the Bridge

Linus Gelber

In general, the public favorite of the four Waterfalls stationed along the East River this summer was the one mounted under the Brooklyn Bridge.

This is the only one of the group that blended in any way with the surrounding landscape - the other three were free-standing racks of scaffolding with water cascading from troughs on the tops. The bright skeletal look of the pipes and frameworks attracted the eye, but made the other falls feel flimsy and slapdash.

Check it out on the bigger side.
