Thursday Walk 323

Democracy is a wonderful thing until it becomes inconvenient. In the province of Quebec university students went on strike to protest against increased tuition fees. They have been walking the streets every day for months. The Quebec government introduced Bill 78 to limit the rights of marchers to restrict them from becoming rioters. Like many ill-conceived legislation they want to throw out the baby with the bath water. The citizens of Montreal were rightly concerned that this was going too far and began taking up pots and pans to protest the government's measure. So now we have the Casserole Nights marches every Wednesday in various towns and cities across Canada. I walked with the Peterborough group for the first time yesterday. Which leads me to introduce our Thursday Walk for this week.
