Whether they purposely chose today (Pi Day) or not (Sheldon Cooper would approve) the smart physicists at CERN announced that the LHC indeed detect a Higgs Boson. Whether it was the one they predicted is still open to interpretation. But we aren't so esoteric in our daily routine. We just have Thursday Walk to do.
