I still recall those song lyrics: "Free Nelson Mandela, free Nelson Mandela!" Growing up in the 70s and 80s the world continually pressed South Africa's government to end Apartheid and free Nelson Mandela in the bargain. I still remember where I was when I learned the news he had been freed in 1990. So it was with sadness this afternoon as I drove home from work and learned over the radio news cast of his death, announced as a breaking news item. He will be missed.
