Utata Thursday Walk 703

Dr. Roberta Bondar is a former Canadian astronaut, the first Canadian woman in space. She was on STS-42 aboard Discovery as a mission specialist in 1992. And while she didn't do a space walk, which would be fitting as the theme for this Utata Thursday Walk, she is a photographer. A great nature photographer in fact. I've seen two of her exhibitions when they were in Peterborough. She takes photos from helicopters. And she was in Peterborough again, today, the International Day of the Girl. Our campus celebrated by having her give a couple of keynote speeches to female grade 7 and 8 students from our local schools. The students walked in small tour groups around our campus. I even gave elevator pitches about one of our programs. And because it's Thursday, we continue our tradition of Thursday Photo Walks.
