Many years ago hawks were introduced into the city of Boston to control the pigeon population. They've bred by nesting on the old and new buildings of Boston and their own population has grown to a healthy amount. This hawk caught a rat just prior to me and several other people started photographing it. It's unusual to see rats during the daytime in the Boston Common. At first I thought he has a squirrel which is part of their everyday diet.
