I always thought Nearest Neighbor was an inferior downsizing algorithm to bicubic sharper and that the latter was the way to go. Not so, at least not when a tad of sharpening is applied prior to downrezzing (I know that shouldnt be done but I forgot to switch it off). Above is nearest neighbor. Click for bigger one.

Update: Pure bicubic is the best way according to some folks in the know, but in some cases the nearest neighbor algorithm can add some artifacts that make the picture look more crisp on screen. At least, on mine. Read on for a comparison.
