Not every frame has to be a work of art.
Even an ordinary photograph can accomplish the extraordinary – returning to one’s mind not just sights, but sounds, smells, tastes, conversations – moments and emotions one might otherwise have forgotten.
Through our photographs, we can be reunited with old familiar faces; we can attend events long concluded; sit in gardens long since covered in snow. Indeed, even the most unremarkable snapshots can take one back to the farthest reaches of memory: miniature time machines that transport us one frame at a time.
