This image titled "A Boy's LIfe" is another Image created for a
Man Ray Group contest on Flickr. A photo of a lizard was provided for us to create something new with it. My original intent was to create an image of a boy with things that boys like to play with... toys, balls, snakes, lizards, etc. So I was playing with the image and then found this photo I had taken of some snake skin and superimposed that under the lizard pattern layer and over the boy's face. The red in the image was just some coloring in the photo and it looked quite creepy over the boy's left eye and cheek. The green coloring also makes the image look as though the boy was submerged under water, so the theme of this image became about the sudden death of the boy where a baseball hit him in the face and he fell into the water and drowned. Yeah, a bit morbid but it really fits the piece. The boy is my favorite model, my nephew Tanner.
