The paper tells of a factory, in a small town outside of New York City, cited for dumping tons of raw sewage into the Hudson River. The company pays an over-sized fine for accidentally dumping sewage into the River. The City issued a warning to boaters, swimmers, and others along the shore-warning them that the River might be unsafe for swimming. The Hudson River empties into the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Hudson River, where New York City is located and millions of people live, play, work, and presumably, drink water. Years later a man from the city is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Doctors scratch their heads and stare at x-rays. No one knows how he got this cancer, where it comes from or where it's going to spread. Tests are run, doctors are confused, and bad news is passed along to those who patiently wait in the front room. I change the ocean and the ocean changes me.
