A couple of years ago, The Queen came to visit our fair city, and the Provincial Museum of Alberta was renamed the Royal Alberta Museum.

Just two years later, developers are talking about tearing it down and replacing it with - you guessed it - condominiums.

The idea is to build a new museum closer to the downtown, which might be a good idea. The existing building feels almost hidden despite its large size, and it is a bit of a bunker.

The statue depicted here is particularly dated: White, Hetero, Nuclear, Dour.

Although I'm not for embracing the mistakes of the past, it still pains me to think they might replace this museum. How might we move forward without erasing our past?
