If you have never been to a CostCo in America, you are missing an amazing sight.
For !afterclass! exercise in converging lines.
Today's photo ops were provided by the weekly errands. Trying not to attract too much attention, I brough only my little Sony P&S DSC-W100. People hardly notice it and even though there are certain uncontrollables it is much easier to get these candid over-the-head shots.
This was shot at a place called CostCo and anyone outside the U.S.A. who has never been to one would hardly believe their eyes. There is more food and commodities at one CostCo serving a 10 mile radius than in most small towns. It is literally a warehouse food store, just what the American consumer ordered.
But I digress, here we have the aisles of the market converging to the vanishing point and the people dutifully pushing their baskets within the aisle creating the less organized line of traffic. The central feature of this shot is the perspective of the aisle with the large baskets in the foreground leading to the little heads at the end of the aisle. I applied a B&W treatment to bring out the geometries and edges.
